“LinkedIn is by far my most favoured of all social media tools when it comes to business. I use it daily, from reading helpful articles to managing my contacts. Last week, we learnt how Groups are a fantastic way to share and expand upon your expertise. This week, the focus is on…drum roll please…using Pulse!
If you have yet to discover the Pulse feature on LinkedIn, then you’re missing out. As a Director, I find it an invaluable tool and always make sure to devote 10-15 minutes a day to scrolling through it; learning information from key influencers and world-renowned business people who have taken the time to share their knowledge, expertise and experiences.
So what is Pulse?
Well, technically and officially: Pulse was an app created in 2010 for use with Android, iOS and HTML compatible browsers and devices. The application displays news from multiple RSS feeds in a single page using a tile-based interface – (thanks Wikipedia!)
To put it simply, Pulse is an excellent feature that can be accessed through the Interests tab on LinkedIn’s main navigation bar. It “pulls” articles from the topics or writers that interest you the most – from renowned professionals such as Richard Branson, Deepak, Chopra or Bill Gates to the average blogger, simply sharing their passion and knowledge.
These days, it’s clear how fast times and trends are changing and, as a result, the ability to learn and grow continually has become increasingly important. Pulse helps to speed this process up through giving you access to incredible content and thought-provoking articles, whilst encouraging you to share your own knowledge with others!”
